Region 1

Board Bios - John Murphy

     John is serving his second year as Region One Representative of MTSA.  As an MTSA member for 12 years, he has also served as Association President, two years as Conference Chair, four years as Treasurer, three years as Newsletter Editor, and numerous years on the Conference Planning Committee.

     Murph has worked for the Charlevoix-Emmett ISD for over 30 years, and has been Transition Coordinator there for the past 10.

     John lives in beautiful and picturesque Petoskey Michigan in his home overlooking Lake Michigan.  He is single and has two very active kids; a son Colin, a senior at Petoskey High School, and a beautiful daughter Morgan, who is a sophomore.  In addition to attending the many sporting events his kids are involved with, John spends what little spare time he has gardening, and serving on the Petoskey City Planning Commission and Zoning Board.

     John’s goal while serving on the MTSA board is to “assist the association in building networks and developing learning opportunities for it’s members to enhance successful programming for student with a disability to become productive members of society.“
